Allahabad: The City of Churches
Allahabad the erstwhile British capital is home to some beautiful and historically significant churches of then colonial India so is also known as the ‘City of Churches’. There are around a dozen colonial era churches that pay tribute to various forms of architecture that flourished during the Victorian age; Gothic revival, Roman-Italianate, English Baroque, Greek etc. Many of the churches are built in the East-West direction with few exceptions.
‘Tour the Churches’ is an awe-inspiring time travel time to the glorious years of Indian Gothic Era and Christian ethos of the 18th century Colonial India.
